State of the art batteries containing Samsung 40T 21700 cells powers the Hyperdrive. An advanced self balancing battery management system and bluetooth connectivity allows for real time monitoring of battery health.
These batteries are the best out there. Their rated discharge amperage is a whopping 140 amps. The Hyperdrive can pull a peak 60 amps, so the batteries have no trouble providing all the power needed without stressing out the cells.
We offer 2 batteries, a nominal 52 Volt (58.8V peak) and a nominal 64 Volt (71.4V peak).
Kranked 52V (58.8V peak) - this voltage was used to optimized the pedal cadence of the Hyperdrive on your bike. This means the motor RPM is optimized with the gear reductions of the output to achieve a 100% pedal cadence of between 80-100 rpms at the cranks. This achieves meaningful pedal strokes (100-300 watts) input that are added to the Hyperdrives output of 100-3700 watts.
- The technical description is 14S4P. This means there are 14 series (rows) containing 4 battery Samsung 40t cells in parallel in each row. 14 X 4 = 56 cells. Each cell has a maximum discharge of 35 amps, so run in parallel it means that the pack is rated at 140 amp discharge. Each cell has a 4000 mAmp capacity, so by having 4 cells in parallel means the battery has a 16 amp hour capacity or 832 watt hours. Battery weighs 9.5 lbs and it's dimensions are 3.5"w X 6"h X 6 3/4"l inches.
Kranked 64V (71.4V peak) - This voltage spins the motor 20% faster than the 52V and is therefore faster and more torque is generated. It is 80% pedal cadence, meaning there is meaningful pedal inputs for the first 80% of the throttle, and for the last 20% the cranks spin over 100 rpm and it is hard to add meaningful pedal strokes.
The technical description is 17S4P. This means there are 17 series (rows) containing 4 battery Samsung 40t cells in parallel in each row. 17 X 4 = 68 cells. Each cell has a maximum discharge of 35 amps, so run in parallel it means that the pack is rated at 140 amp discharge. Each cell has a 4000 mAmp capacity, so by having 4 cells in parallel means the battery has a 16 amp hour capacity or 1024 watt hours. Battery weighs 11.5 lbs and it's dimensions are 3.5"w X 6.5"h X 7 1/2"l inches.
Batteries have a 1 year warranty.
